50 years of London print heritage

Urgent Printing isn’t a startup with a website and a trade printer on speed dial. Our roots go back to 1976, when R.G. Scales started trading as a commercial printer in London. R.G. Scales became The Document Centre, and in 2017 we launched urgentprinting.co.uk as a trading name focused on same-day and urgent work. Urgent Printing Limited was incorporated in 2018.

That’s 50 years of continuous London print experience. We’ve printed through every technology shift from litho to large-format digital, and our team knows how to handle the kind of rush jobs that less experienced shops turn away.

Where is your London print shop?

Urgent Printing is at Arch 5, 164 Southwark Bridge Road, London SE1 0DG, under the railway arches just south of the River Thames. We’re within walking distance of London Bridge, Borough and Southwark tube stations and a short walk across Southwark Bridge from Blackfriars.

Can I walk in without an appointment?

Yes. Our shop is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Bring your files on a USB stick, email them ahead, or discuss your job in person — no appointment needed.

What’s the fastest you can print?

Our fastest tier is 2-hour Express Plus — order by 3:00 pm and your job is ready in 2 hours. We also offer 4-hour Express (order by 1:00 pm) and Full Day same-day service (order by 10:00 am, ready by 4:00 pm). All three tiers are available on most products.

Do you print everything same day?

Yes. Every product on our website is available with same-day turnaround. The business was built around urgent printing — same day isn’t an add-on, it’s what we do.

How much does printing cost in London?

Prices depend on the product, quantity, paper stock and finishing — so we built an instant online pricing system. Choose your product, select your requirements and the price updates in seconds. You don’t even need a file ready — upload your PDF only when you’re ready to place the order. No callbacks, no “we’ll email you a quote by end of day”.

What file format do I need?

Orders placed through our website must be supplied as PDF. Our File Checking Service is available on every product — we check resolution, bleed and colour and contact you if anything needs adjusting before your job goes to press.

Do you deliver across London?

Yes — we run motorbike and van couriers to all London postcodes, same day. For UK destinations outside London, we offer DHL next working day delivery. Walk-in collection from our SE1 shop is always free.

Are you open at weekends?

No. Our shop is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Orders placed outside business hours are processed on the next working day. Our online ordering system is available around the clock — place your order at any time and we’ll start printing when we open.
