Description
Looking for a binding method that combines speed, style, and strength? Thermal binding—also known as Fastback, Heat Binding, or Tape Binding—is your answer. This sleek technique uses heat to activate a pre-applied adhesive inside the spine of a cover, securely fusing your pages into a polished, book-like finish. No holes, no wires, no hassle.
Why customers love it:
- Professional appearance: The smooth spine and clean edges give your documents a premium, print-shop look—ideal for presentations, proposals, dissertations, and client-facing materials.
- Quick turnaround: Simply insert your pages into the thermal cover, place it in the binding machine, and within seconds, your document is sealed and ready to go.
- Durable hold: The heat-activated glue grips every page firmly, ensuring your work stays intact even with frequent handling.
- No punching required: Unlike comb or wire binding, thermal binding keeps your pages pristine, with no need to perforate or damage the edges.
Whether you’re binding a single report or producing a batch of branded booklets, thermal binding offers a fast, fuss-free solution that elevates your work. It’s the perfect blend of convenience and class—because your ideas deserve to be beautifully packaged.
Some important things to note regarding thermal binding:
When preparing your document for thermal binding, it’s important to leave enough margin along the binding edge (usually the left side) to ensure none of your content gets lost in the glued spine. We would recommend allowing a minimum margin of at least 15-20mm on the binding edge (mirrored if the document is double-sided)
This allows:
- The adhesive to grip securely without encroaching on your text
- A clean, readable layout once the document is bound
In addition, thermal binding is only offered on our 100gsm uncoated paper stock, and we do not offer printed covers for thermal binding.
