Adding bleed to your file
For professional print results, it’s always best to add a 3mm bleed to your design. This ensures that colours, backgrounds, and images extend beyond the final trim size, avoiding any unwanted white edges after cutting.
Here’s the general recommendation across design software:
- Photoshop – Increase canvas size by 6mm total (3mm per side) when creating your document.
- InDesign – Set 3mm bleed in Document Setup, and make sure design elements extend to the red bleed guides.
- Canva – Enable Show print bleed in View Settings, and stretch your background and images beyond the dashed bleed line.
When exporting your final file, always include bleed settings in the PDF print options to ensure printers process it correctly. A clean bleed leads to a flawless, professional finish!
Technical Info
For 4 Page Folded Menus, please submit artwork as one file (single pages, not spreads) in running order.
For example, a 4 page should be supplied as one PDF with 4 pages running in page order.
It is recommended you do not place words, page numbers or images too close to the edges of each page. We would recommend a safe zone on all sides of at least 5mm.
